About this Opportunity
As an IT Developer Technical Architect - CET Designer, you'll be responsible for the design and implementation of IT processes. You will provide support to functional areas by creating and communicating solutions to complex problems and projects.

  • Apply advanced problem-solving skills and execute solutions to complex problems independently.
  • Apply learned IT skills to your work assignments.
  • Coach and mentor IT tasks and skills to others.
  • Develop and implement IT processes.
  • Identify opportunities and own improvements to technologies and IT processes.
  • Lead, define, and complete complex IT tasks independently. You may also lead small projects.
  • Manage and hold accountability for project completions.
  • Present your work output in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop and maintain the Configura CET Designer extension used by the Herman Miller Group. The CET Designer extension allows for the design and configuration of product offerings in 2- and 3-dimensional representation coupled with costing, business logic, error prevention, and order entry.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team, including Product Services, Engineering, Information Technology, and outside consultants in North America Europe and Asia to develop the software extension to CET Designer.
  • Mentor other Software Developers on CET Designer development.
  • Teach end-users and stakeholders about the software capabilities and future possibilities in order to create a roadmap for future enhancements.
  • Contribute toward continuous improvement, both code and process.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

You might be just who we're looking for if you have...

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems (IS), or another relevant academic discipline.
  • Six years of experience in a professional IT/IS field.
  • Zero to two years of experience of participation on project teams.
  • An in-depth understanding of the fundamental technologies used to support your assigned business function.
  • A robust understanding of coding and testing to solve complex business needs.
  • A practical understanding of how technology solves identified business problems.
  • Professional experience in C , C#, Java, or other Object Oriented Programming languages.
  • A passion for programming and creating business value through automation.
  • A good grasp of object oriented concepts and experience in using them to build applications.
  • Experience in development related to 3D Geometry or KBE (Knowledge Based Engineering) oriented applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • The ability to mentor other Software Developers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to be a self-starter and to work independently on diverse problems.
  • The ability to quickly gather requirements, explore multiple approaches, and suggest solutions.
  • Experience in structuring code for larger projects.
  • Interest in user experience.
  • Experience developing and maintaining software for 3D design applications, preferably with Configura's CET Designer software, and a good understanding of 3D mathematics (preferred, but not required).
  • Experience in agile development processes such as SCRUM or Kanban (preferred, but not required).
  • The ability to perform all essential job functions of the position with or without accommodations.
