**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineering Intern for employment in the Philadelphia, PA. office. AECOM is searching for candidates that have the ability to be a role model, be client-focused, be impactful and be decisive. Our team is looking for a civil engineering student interested in joining a premier engineering company with potential to gain experience on a variety of challenging transportation projects that include work within the highway, bridge, mass transit, freight rail, and airport industries. Previous and current projects include several projects involving the reconstruction of I-95 in the Philadelphia area, reconstruction of I-476, several reconstruction and interchange improvement projects along I-78 in Berks County PA, reconstruction and interchange improvements along I-80 in Monroe County PA, several total reconstruction projects along the Pennsylvania Turnpike, supporting the design of Green Infrastructure within the City of Philadelphia and supporting DelDOT statewide pavement rehab program. Our clients include PennDOT, PA Turnpike Commission, DelDOT, Norfolk Southern Railroad, CSX, Amtrak, the Delaware River Port Authority, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, the City of Philadelphia and SEPTA.

An intern is expected to be able to apply technical training to perform basic calculations, work well in a team setting and be willing to work diligently to learn new skills.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Assisting in the development of roadway alignments, hydraulic and hydrologic analysis, stormwater design, traffic control plans, erosion control plans, right-of-way determination, utility coordination, and environmental permitting utilizing Microstation, AutoCAD and a variety of Civil Engineering design software applications and MS Office applications.

+ Assisting with preliminary to final design calculations and plan development, reviewing field information, performing field inspection of existing facilities and other work consistent with the duties of an entry level engineer.

+ General office administration, including report reproduction, collation and deliveries.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering or other related field required.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Some experience with AutoCAD, Microstation or other civil engineering related software (Civil 3D, Inroads, StormCAD, Pondpak).

+ Very Familiar with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point).

+ Previous work experience with engineering firms, contractors or DOTs involved in design, construction or management of highway or other transportation related projects.

+ A university student with no more than one academic year remaining before earning a degree is preferred. These students are typically seniors in university. Contingent upon a positive performance review, a successful intern may receive an offer of full-time employment.
