**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Construction Engineer for immediate employment in the Greater New York City Area. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging project within our Power and Energy sector partnering with major Utility companies in all regions we support

The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

+ Work with Program Manager/Project Manager to problem solve construction related issues on project sites

+ Performs tasks including client/project development, resource management, and supervision management of construction management activities as they relate to contract administration, cost management, project management, quality management, construction safety management, time management

+ Assist in managing and coordinating preliminary sites or building analysis for construction projects

+ Other duties as assigned

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's Degree in engineering

+ 5+ years experience includng 4+ years in project management

+ The construction engineer at this level must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

+ Core knowledge of construction techniques, construction management, and basic contract administration

+ Strong knowledge to be able to inspect in-progress construction work to ensure compliance with the contract documents, specifications, permits, and drawings

+ Ability to understand the various laws and regulations and how they affect construction activitiesGood interpersonal skills. Ability to interface and coordinate daily with divisional leaders and external organizations

+ Good negotiation skills with clients, contractors, and vendors

+ Effective oral and written communication skills

+ Must be aware of changes and advancements in the industry, and develop industry-wide expertise

+ Ability to manage diverse projects involving integration of construction into different operating systems and various utilities in the state

+ knowledge of various utilities policies and procedures as well as industry wide practices and safety regulations

+ Demonstrated ability to view tasks logically, break them down into essential requirements, and generate a solution to meet project goals

+ Ability to handle multiple smaller projects from start to finish, with only major decisions being brought to Project Engineer, Resident Construction Manager, and/or Project Manager

+ Inspection experience associated with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation/Controls Projects

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ 7+ years of experience
