**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Drainage Design Engineer for immediate employment in the Tampa, FL office. The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in drainage design specific to roadway projects for DOT, counties, municipalities and other transportation agencies. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting and challenging projects, working with both public and private clients (including both Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build projects).

The engineer will work under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, designing a wide variety of roadway projects that include RRR, widening, reconstruction, new construction, arterials, interstates, managed lanes, and toll facilities. Projects range from local arterial/collector roads to multilevel interchanges.

Responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to:

+ Interdisciplinary coordination in the design of open and closed drainage systems, cross drains, stormwater management facilities

+ Design many include both permanent and temporary drainage facilities

+ Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and design criteria to carry out stormwater engineering tasks

+ Use of Microstation and/or AutoCAD to prepare construction plans

+ Preparation of engineering calculations, computer modeling, design documentation reports, permitting documents, and construction quantities

+ Assist in preparation of supporting calculations and documentation for environmental permitting efforts

+ Meetings with clients and/or agencies to determine project specific design needs/criteria

+ Field visits to assess site conditions

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or appropriate equivalent

+ 2+ years of engineering experience in civil highway drainage/hydraulic/stormwater design with an increasing level of responsibility

+ Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam

+ Experience in the practical application of engineering principles and technology

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Knowledge of engineering software such as Microstation or AutoCAD

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Drainage design experience on FDOT projects

+ Experience with 3-D applications of Microstation

+ Basic familiarity with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D

+ Knowledge of drainage modeling software used by FDOT and municipalities in the State of Florida

+ Self motivation, high level of accuracy, and attention to detail is essential; able to prioritize multiple tasks

+ Works well in team environment as well as independently
