**Job Summary**

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Electrical & Instrument Design Supervisor to work in the New Orleans, LA office.

Typical Responsibilities:

+ Leads team to develop complex engineering drawings. Understands project scope as presented within the Electrical and Instrumentation Disciplines.

+ Initiates a change order if manpower needs change or a change in work scope occurs that will affect the budget and or schedule.

+ May supervise a group of personnel assigned to the project Electrical and Instrumentation design group and distributes work assignments to most effectively utilize staff.

+ Oversees preparation of drawings, layouts, and 3D models. Can lead the development of manpower, man-hour and labor cost requirements for design staff to satisfy project requirements and can monitor the effect of these on budget.

+ Fully understands and utilizes the capabilities, applications, and operations of computer software associated

+ with design assignments and provides direction and guidance to others.

+ Perform design quality review to ensure quality and consistency of drawings is being met.

+ Continually upgrades technical knowledge and capabilities, and pursues additional coursework and reviews completed work to ensure accuracy with codes and design data.

+ Ensures that designs are consistent with project technical requirements and scope. Leads the planning and scheduling of design task associated with the assigned project.

+ Conforms to company core values and assists others with adhering to them. Acts with integrity in all elements of responsibility.

+ Presents information and ideas clearly and listens effectively to the ideas of others.

**Minimum Requirements**

Education:

+ Associates degree in electrical engineering discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience.

Experience:

+ 8 years experience designing complex electrical and instrument systems for industrial plant design projects.

+ Demonstrated experience creating detailed instrumentation and control design drawings, including instrumentation physical layouts, instrumentation installation details, control system layout, instrument and cable design, control schematics.

+ Must have 3D Modeling and 2D annotation CAD software experience.

+ Previous experience in a lead design role to include:

+ Providing technical guidance and assistance to other designers & drafters

+ Responsibility for accuracy of work product

+ Leads or assists with the development of staffing plans, labor hour, & labor cost requirements for projects and monitoring it against the budget

+ Assists with the planning and scheduling of design tasks associated with assigned project(s)

+ Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Previous experience preparing, executing and managing project scope.

+ Efficient in the use of Electrical Design Suite and Electrical and Instrumentation design CAD tools.

+ Previous experience with Elecdes/Paneldes/Instrument Manager Design Suite

+ Previous experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D or Bentley AutoPLANT

+ Previous experience working on Oil & Gas, Power and/or Petrochemical industry projects

+ Experience with the utilization of overseas design centers

+ Previous supervisory experience
