**Job Summary**

AECOM is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance Specialist who will pursue client opportunities and prepare proposals, manage projects and provide technical and regulatory assistance for environmental, health and safety compliance projects, safety management systems, safety oversight, industrial hygiene monitoring and compliance assurance programs for clients locally and nationally. This is an excellent career opportunity to work with high profile, national and global clients.

The location of this position is flexible to Oakland, San Jose, San Francisco, or Sacramento.

Responsibilities include:

+ Provide technical and regulatory assistance on environmental- and safety-related compliance projects, safety management system development and implementation, safety oversight, industrial hygiene monitoring, and environmental and/or safety auditing.

+ Develop EHS procedures, plans, permit applications, and reports.

+ Perform compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations.

+ Design and implement EHS management systems and programs (e.g., ISO 14001; BSI 18001 and ISO 45001) for clients.

+ Conduct training, field coaching, and assessment for safety performance improvement projects.

+ Provide on-site EHS compliance support at client facilities.

+ Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.

+ Support other Project Managers to effectively manage and deliver projects.

+ Build positive client relationships.

+ Effectively collaborate with other AECOM employees.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree in engineering, environmental science, safety or other EHS related discipline.

+ 10+ years' experience preferred

+ Possess a strong knowledge and understanding of applicable rules and regulations in California (Cal-EPA and Cal-OSHA), as well as federal EPA & OSHA regulations and rules associated with EHS topics including, but not limited to: hazardous waste management; hazardous materials management; storm water compliance; Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) planning; wastewater compliance; worker injury and illness prevention programs; hazard communication; lock-out/ tag-out; confined space entry; and machine guarding.

+ Ability to execute and manage tasks or projects independently.

+ Experience in industrial settings required (e.g., general manufacturing, oil & gas, chemical/pharmaceutical, food & beverage, etc.).

+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, MS Office computer, and analytical skills; experienced in writing comprehensive technical reports.

+ Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.

+ Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Certification in field: CIH, CHMM, CSP, CPEA, PE or similar registration highly desirable.

+ Compliance auditing experience desired.

+ Industrial hygiene experience is desired.
