**Job Summary**

URS has an immediate opening for an ESH Manager in Kuwait.

The position is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) program under senior program management direction and serves as the primary POC with the customer’s functional lead and staff for ESH services.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Implement and manage program level environmental, safety, and health (ESH) policies and procedures in accordance with the company’s Safety Management System. .

2) Supervise and mentor the Environmental Safety and Health Specialists assigned to the project or contract.

3) Evaluate working conditions and practices to identify hazards and develop corrective measures.

4) Provide weekly and monthly reports of key performance indicators to program management.

5) Monitor work practices and develop controls for preventing chemical, biological, physical hazards and diseases throughout work sites.

6) Manage workplace injuries and illnesses in accordance with company injury management protocols. Report and track incidents in the company database, guide after incident reviews and communicate lessons learned.

7) Conduct work area inspections and assessments and, recommend corrective actions with target dates, and assign accountability. Provide weekly reports to management.

8) Implement and monitor continuous improvement initiatives with target dates and assigned accountability.

9) Assist and guide supervisory staff in the implementation and monitoring of pre-task planning in all work areas to include Job Safety Analysis and Task Hazard Assessment

10) Stay abreast of all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations and advise management.

11) Develop, provide, and track mandatory and job-specific ESH training programs for all employees.

12) Develop, implement and promote effective safety communication procedures to enhance and encourage employee awareness of incident prevention, industrial hygiene and environmental compliance.

13) Facilitate incident investigations and root cause analysis with corrective actions focused on work methods and conditions.

14) Develop and guide an effective recognition program to reward employees for positive contributions to the ESH program.

15) Organize and monitor a program safety committee and facilitate employee-led teams to manage ESH program initiatives.

16) Provide overall ESH leadership and direction to management and supervisory personnel.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences or demonstrated equivalent.

+ Possess a minimum of five (5) years of directly related ESH management experience. Additional experience with proven track record may be substituted for education.

+ Must have intermediate or better level competency in computer skills and programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

+ Certification as CIH, CSP, OHST, CHMM, or PE is desired.

+ Candidates without professional certification will be expected to achieve certification within 6 months of hire.

+ Candidate must possess a valid, state-issued driver’s license with clean driving record.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Work week is 72 hours with Sundays off. Internal office environment with typical ergonomic conditions; external environment with extreme summer temperatures and occasional windy conditions with dust; occasional lifting to 20 pounds, frequent sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness; must possess excellent planning/organizational skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
