In this role, you will provide oversight and responsibility for delivery across our Network and Communications infrastructure. Providing leadership to the network and comms operations team with a strong focus on driving Service Delivery excellence and continually improving customer satisfaction. Acting as a subject matter expert regarding the application of business objectives and alternatives for critical service delivery whilst building a cohesive team championing quality, sharing appropriate information and building depth of expertise

We are looking for a strong and inspirational leader to drive the team to robust Service Delivery across this key set of Services with a global mindset and to drive our overall team culture

Your first Three Months

We have a complex environment globally, as the leader of this group you will be joining a team of dedicated, intelligent and experienced team. You’ll work in a critical and time sensitive environment that powers our organisations operations. You will bring a structured approach to solving problems with a focus on operational efficiency. You will lead a geographically distributed team and be a change-agent to take the team to the next level. In the first three months as our Director of global network and comms Operations you’re going to be:

+ Understanding our current global network and comms operations and the Services and contractual agreements that support them

+ Understanding how we need to organise globally to provide robust 24x7 operations to meeting the needs of a global organisation

+ Improve our ITIL-based processes and procedures with emphasis on data driven decisions

+ Working with a high level of technical expertise and the ability to multi task in a changing environmentResponsibilities:

+ Provide leadership and management of a high-performance team of hands-on, remote and other sourcing options

+ Lead and direct the operations involved in the implementation, support, and monitoring of network infrastructure environments to meet corporate and business needs to include service delivery, technical support, deployment, administration, hardware management, process management and other related technical functions utilizing a variety of resources

+ Oversee Enterprise Telecommunications and Networking environments to ensure the infrastructure meets the customer requirements while adhering to established policies, procedures, and deadlines

+ Develop and implement strategic plans in order to proactively enhance the department’s ability to meet the technical needs

+ Understand and support approved corporate and departmental policies and procedures relating to business procedures and conduct ensuring communications and acceptance by staff

+ Allocate accountability to our service provider and ensure they are performing according to the KPI's agreed with them. Any issues with performance must be resolved between the Service team and our provider

+ Provide executive level visibility to operational performance, incident and outage, resources assigned, project activity, service level and if necessary budgets/cost details

+ Implement process for performance management and continuous improvement against established key performance indicators

+ Collaborate and build strong relationship with Global Infrastructure and enterprise application teams and develop opportunities for cross-team effectiveness and remove organizational barriers for strong teamwork, collaboration, and excellent service delivery

+ Effectively drive change initiatives targeted at decreasing operating expense and increasing operational efficiencies

+ Partner with Architects, Engineers and other stakeholders to assist in the design, communicate and implement Strategies, Technology Roadmaps, Standards, Processes and Services

+ Partner with Global Information Security to ensure security, audit and compliance requirements are met

+ Experience of working with Cloud transf



+ Extensive, hands-on experience of the support of data and voice networks

+ Substantial and demonstrable experience in a senior management role that requires the influencing of other Senior managers to ensure success. Practical experience in project management

+ Experience managing networking infrastructure and monitoring

+ Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with both technical and business people in terms they can understand, make recommendations on and convey technical issues appropriately

+ Experience developing and presenting concepts, plans and status to both senior managers (up to CIO-level) and technical staff

+ Experience building and managing relationships with complex networks of stakeholders

+ Demonstrated financial and contract management skills

+ Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and to use informed persuasion to influence others

+ Ability to move between details and the bigger picture

+ Embrace change, viewing it as an opportunity to learn and develop

+ ITIL certification
