About this Opportunity
As an IT Project Manager, you'll work under general supervision and manage IT projects from original concept through final implementation, ensuring adherence to quality standards. You will act as a liaison between IT and assigned business units or vendors around decisions that may be impacted by technology. You'll also collect, analyze, review, document, and communicate business needs and requirements to the IT organization, and feed back solution design through direct interaction with business partners.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of a business area to identify and communicate how IT solutions can add value.
  • Ensure a common understanding by setting expectations in accordance with the project plan in order to align stakeholders and team members.
  • Ensure that the design and integration of proposed system, software, and hardware solutions leads to the development and growth of the business through the effective use of technology.
  • Identify high level risks and constraints and implement approved actions and workarounds to mitigate project risk events to ensure the continued execution of the overall project.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques in order to keep the project plan accurate, updated, and reflective of authorized project changes as defined in the change management plan. You'll also facilitate customer acceptance.
  • Monitor and measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to communicate to all stakeholders.
  • Monitor the execution of all tasks as defined in the project plan in order to achieve project goals.
  • Participate in decisions around buying versus building technology solutions.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
  • Record detailed customer requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders in order to establish project deliverables, using the appropriate requirement gathering techniques.
  • Work with key stakeholders in assigned business segments to align technology solutions with business strategies.

You might be just who we’re looking for if you have...

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Business, or equivalent work experience. A Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
  • Five to seven years of relevant technical or business work and management experience, involving three plus years of experience in process engineering and/or project management. Experience with global projects is a plus.
  • A strong understanding of information systems, business processes, key drivers and measures of success for the business, and the short- and long-term direction of the business and technology.
  • The ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Expert communication skills, including written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Financial literacy and business acumen.
  • The ability to effectively use the office automation, communication, software, and tools used in the Herman Miller office environment.
  • The ability to perform all essential job functions of the position with or without accommodations.
