WTAE-TV, the Hearst-owned ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, PA is now accepting applications for a Local Sales Manager. 


Job Responsibilities:


·         Prepare annual budgets and revenue goals for the local account executives.

·         Conduct quarterly strategy meetings with local sales team with inclusion of GSM and DSM.

·         Regularly meet with local sales team, including group and individual meetings, to ensure professional development and accomplishment of budgeted goals.

·         Communicate regularly with General Sales Manager on all aspects of local business.

·         Consistently evaluate seller performance and provide feedback.

·         Understanding and using qualitative research.  Marshall Marketing and Kantar working knowledge a plus.

·         Ability to manage the generation of new business to local sales and to assist or train the local sellers in the task.

·         Develop and generate digital revenue. 

·         Work in partnership with the National and Digital Sales Managers to achieve stated and strategic goals.

·         Recruit and develop ‘new talent’.

·         Review and approve new insertion orders.

·         Provide to GSM current and accurate local forecasts by account.



Experience Requirements:


·         Have full understanding of Nielsen ratings and methodology for rating projections and evaluation.

·         Strong formal interpersonal communication skills.

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, Wide Orbit, Kantar and One Domain a plus.

·         Five or more years of Television experience with management experience preferred.


Qualifications Requirements:  


·         A valid driver’s license at all times (MVR check required). 




·         College degree preferred.
