**Job Summary**

AECOM is hiring qualified Auto Painters in support of Aerospace Ground Equipment repair at our El Centro, CA location.

The Painter, Automotive Worker coats surfaces of motor vehicles such as automobiles, buses, and trucks with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices, removes old paint from vehicle, using liquid paint remover and scraper, smooths surface with sandpaper and steel wool.Will remove paint and paint contract units in accordance with the customers specifications. Will apply various corrosion control methods and technologies.

Coats surfaces of contract units with primer, paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin. or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other devices. Removes old paint using liquid paint remover and scraper or plastic/sand media blasting techniques. Roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to ensure that paint adheres to surface, masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted, paints vehicle or specified portion of vehicle and may paint insignia, letters or numerals on vehicle surface using stencils.

Paints and redecorates facilities, vehicles, equipment and fixtures. Work involves the following: Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for difference applications; preparing surface for painting by removing old finish or by placing putty or filler in nail holes and interstices; and applying paint with spray gun or brush. May mix colors, oils, white lead and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency. In general, the work of the maintenance painter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting to 20-50 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

**Minimum Requirements**

High school diploma or equivalent is required. One (1) to three (3) years recent experience in the maintenance, overhaul and painting and de-painting of contract unit equipment is essential.

Must pass a pre-employment drug test and a government background check.

PFT and Respirator Fit test is required.

Must be available for any shift and be willing to work weekends and other hours as needed.

Must have a valid Driver's License.

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Must be able to read, write and speak English.
