**Job Summary**

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Contaminated Land Consultant to join our highly regarded and dynamic Geoscience and Remediation Services workgroup based in Perth. You will work with a talented team of over 20 environmental engineers, scientists and hydrogeologists, providing contaminated land assessment and remediation consulting on a wide range of projects, including working with large international oil and gas, mining and public sector clients across WA and further afield.

Roles and Responsibilities

* All aspects of technically directing and managing contaminated land portfolios, including a variety of traditional site investigations and remediation programs.

* Strong client focus, including fostering and development of existing and new client relationships.

* Focus on business development and growth of the team including support on large-scale national bid programs.

* Leadership and mentoring of junior team members throughout all aspects of contaminated land assessment, including field work, data assessment, presentation and interpretation, report authoring and regulatory and stakeholder liaison.

* High quality interpretative and technical report production and review, including proposal/tender preparation.

* Extensive knowledge and experience in the design and safe implementation of intrusive investigations and remediation programs.

You will be required to work closely with our project teams to develop work programs designed to provide innovative and progressive project solutions for our clients. As such, we need an experienced professional, who possesses strong technical, interpersonal and communication skills, and who is able to quickly respond to changing or challenging project needs. Whilst you will primarily be office-based, flexibility is a must, and you may be required to undertake field work from time-to-time as necessary.

**Minimum Requirements**

Minimum Requirements

* Minimum 9 years’ demonstrated experience in a professional contaminated land consultancy setting, including experience in a similar role.

* Proven success in client/business development and technical direction of client portfolios.

* Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geoscience, hydrogeology, soil science, geotechnical engineering or a related discipline. Postgraduate master’s or Ph.D. degree preferable.

* Strong background in contaminated site assessment and characterisation, including data gap analysis, uncertainty evaluation and conceptual site model development.

* Knowledge and experience of national guidance including application of NEPM, with demonstrated understanding of WA regulatory protocols and the WA DER Contaminated Sites Act 2003 preferable.

**Preferred Qualifications**

Preferable Experiences and Capabilities

* Experience in undertaking remediation projects, including preparation of remedial options appraisals, design of remedial action plans, supervision of system installation and performance monitoring.

* Experience of designing and implementing asbestos assessment and remediation programs.

* Experience in hydrogeological characterisation, including completion and interpretation of pumping tests, slug testing, LNAPL bail down testing and development of conceptual and/or numerical hydrogeological models.

* Knowledge of quantitative human health risk and groundwater risk assessment and modelling.
