About this Opportunity
As a Product Marketing Manager - Focused Markets, you'll be responsible for developing, programming, and executing integrated sales and marketing strategies to launch new products and maintain steady growth within the Healthcare and Higher Education markets for Herman Miller's North America Contract business. You will position and build demand for dedicated products within the Focused Markets and be the conduit to successfully launch and integrate a portfolio of diverse furnishings from our family of brands for these customers. You'll also lead cross-functional teams to co-author, design, and implement marketing plans to support launches and enhance growth for long-term core products.

  • Lead the development of integrated sales and marketing launch plans within highly agile, fast-moving, and collaborative team environments.
  • Build connections across the Herman Miller Group portfolio to establish a synergistic set of tools that communicate a holistic offer that meets all the needs of the Institutional customer.
  • Partner with the Product Development Team to identify opportunities and generate value through the commercialization process.
  • Lead integrated and outbound marketing and communications planning, design, execution, and measurement.
  • Work to identify opportunities for our Services offering and applications (Live OS) within Focused Markets.
  • Influence segmentation, targeting, and positioning work to achieve customer and business objectives, balancing launch needs with category/portfolio considerations.
  • Partner with Offer Leads, Audience Leads, and other business partners to integrate knowledge, insight, perspective, and needs into their work.
  • Collaborate with business partners on growth and lifecycle strategies to maintain momentum and sustain a commercial edge.
  • Connect to dealers and sales partners to ensure we create the right insights and tools to move the next step along the buying journey.
  • Coordinate with the Customer Success Team for ongoing improvements to our sales and marketing mix.
  • Lead the management of external agency partners, internal resources, and project teams to achieve deliverables and business goals.
  • Manage the creation of selling assets and tools to fuel our sales approach, process, and experience.
  • Manage the development of knowledge and insight to fuel new service products and experiences and to bring exceptional value to business partners and customers.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

You might be just who we're looking for if you have...

  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree and/or certification is preferred.
  • Seven or more years of experience in Sales/Marketing working in a product domain.
  • Three or more years of experience working with brand, direct, and integrated marketing.
  • Three or more years of project leadership experience, as well as experience managing a team.
  • One or more years of experience in digital and web-based techniques and demand generation.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, combined with holistic business acumen.
  • A strong understanding of business functions and their roles in bringing new ventures and products to market.
  • The ability to be a proven networker and to lead from a number of positions.
  • The ability to drive internal and external relationships forward smoothly.
  • A demonstrated high level of written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to communicate information, ideas, procedures, and processes in a logical sequence to a range of audiences, resulting in effective working relationships.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead, influence, solve problems, and work with all levels in the organization, and in a cross-functional environment.
  • A demonstrated ability to author and execute strategy at a tactical level.
  • A willingness and ability to travel at least 15 percent of the time to achieve business objectives.
  • The ability to perform all essential job functions of the position with or without accommodations.
