WPTZ/NBC5, the Hearst Television, NBC affiliate in the Burlington/Plattsburgh market, is accepting resumes for a Multi-Media Journalist. This Reporter/Photographer enterprises, writes, shoots, edits and delivers news to all platforms (web, broadcast and digital channels).  We are looking for a versatile, enterprising self-starter who is fast, efficient, works well under tight deadlines, can develop sources, and has excellent live reporting skills. Although expected to cover stories from our entire region, this position will be based out of our White River Junction, VT newsroom.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Enterprise stories from the field.  
  • Shoot and edit own video and deliver to newsroom via wireless technology.
  • Write stories for newscast and other platforms.
  • Deliver live shots.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year professional news reporter experience.     
  • Must have understanding of news production techniques and the ability to develop an engaging presentation.     

Qualifications Requirements:

  • Must have strong writing and communication skills.   
  • Should have valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Broadcast Journalism or Communications preferred.
