**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Resident Engineer for employment in the New York, NY office.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

+ Provides professional engineering services on projects and acts as client’s representative in the field interacting with client (end user), contractor and other external parties

+ Oversees field site activities and provides technical advice on construction and design

+ Using advanced knowledge in engineering principles, responds to Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractor by interpreting plans and specifications

+ Discusses deviations from specified construction materials and procedures with engineer of record or supervisor

+ Determines requirements for work-arounds and remedial corrective actions

+ Regularly reviews, signs, and seals engineering plans and reviews and approves contract submittals and payment applications to contractors

+ Leads on-site inspectors who observe work in progress and document conformance to quality, performance, safety and code requirements and maintains inspection records

+ Conducts regular project review sessions with appropriate personnel to monitor the continuing progress of the project

+ Examines workmanship of finished installations for standard conformity and approves installation

+ Completes contract close-out processes

+ Implements and follows project and company safety procedures

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent

+ 5+ years of progressive construction management/resident engineering experience

+ Previous NYCDDC experience, or equivalent

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Licensed as a registered Professional Engineer (PE)

+ OSHA training
