About this Opportunity
As a Sales Lead - Herman Miller Collection, you'll be responsible for selling Herman Miler Collection products through A D firms and direct relationships with customers.

What You'll Do

  • Build strategic relationships with key A D firms/players in those firms to drive Collection sales.
  • Create the local sales strategy to drive Collection sales.
  • Focus appropriate resources from the Collection Marketing Teams on A D firms, key customers, and influencers in the community.
  • Influence the criteria that A D firms use for the selection of product to be specified and respond to technical questions concerning product application.
  • Manage the necessary coordination with Herman Miller A D Representatives for Collection product applications, specification, and quoting.
  • Manage within the assigned expense budget.
  • Participate as needed in client visits to enhance the customer experience.
  • Partner with the Sales Team and dealers to appropriately deploy selling resources and drive sales of Collection product.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide training on new and archival products for specific project opportunities and target accounts for Herman Miller Sales and Dealer Salespeople.
  • Serve as the primary Herman Miller Collection link to the Regional Sales Team and A D leads in a geographic area.

You might be just who we’re looking for if you have...

  • A Bachelor's degree in Design, Architecture, Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Five years of successful selling experience in the field of design and/or architecture or capital or luxury goods, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of Herman Miller products, services, and culture, as well as knowledge of competitive products.
  • Advanced selling skills, including account penetration, strategic selling, conceptual selling, issues-based selling, consultative selling, negotiation, and contracts skills.
  • The ability to qualify prospects through effective networking/relationship-building with key A D influencers.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to collaborate and negotiate.
  • The ability to be an assertive self-starter with the self-confidence and ability to represent the Herman Miller Collection in a professional manner.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment at all levels of the organization, and the ability to build long-term relationships with customers and partners (particularly at senior decision-making levels within an organization).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities with a strong emphasis on listening.
  • Demonstrated high personal performance standards, the desire and ability to continuously learn, and a results-oriented work style (i.e., holding yourself accountable for results).
  • A demonstrated high level of integrity and business ethics.
  • Financial literacy and business acumen.
  • A willingness and ability to travel as required.
  • The ability to effectively use the office automation, communication, software, and tools currently used in the Herman Miller office environment.
  • The ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations.
