The Payment Systems Support Team is responsible for participating in the overall sustainment, ongoing strategy, standardization, analysis, design, implementation and configuration of Payment systems and services at Universal Parks and Resorts.

The Senior Programmer Analyst’s role is to define, develop, test, analyze, and deliver technology solutions in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes testing, analyzing and supporting software programs and applications. The Senior Programmer Analyst will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.

This position is based in Hollywood, California and may require travel to other NBCUniversal parks and properties on occasion.

•Provide system support for day-to-day systems operations.

•Provide support for various software upgrades and installations.

•Interact with software application vendors to report and resolve problems.

•Research, design, and deliver hardware and software solutions.

•Consistently test, configure and monitor software programs and applications for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.

•Collaborate with other internal IT teams as needed to support the business requirements.

•Liaise with other technical staff to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.

•Provide daily/weekly status reports and communicate open issues to team and manager.

•Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

•Support Release Management and Change Control processes along with other UPT Compliance Initiatives.

•Perform other duties as assigned.


•Experience supporting the technical and system needs for payment solutions. Knowledge of card payment systems and devices.

•Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

•Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred; majors in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering or other related field is desirable.

•3-5 years of work experience in an IT support function.

•Experience with relational database and operating systems, specifically Microsoft SQL Server.

•SQL experience, including creation and execution of queries, inserts, updates and deletions. Use of query best practices including triggers, stored procedures and reporting using SSRS.

•Strong team oriented interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to make effective decisions while working through complex system issues.

•Familiarity with network concepts and architectural design a plus.

•Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

•Experience handling sensitive information and compliance with data privacy and security policies.

•Provide after business hours/weekend systems support for major application incidents and part of the IT on call rotation

•Willingness to travel and/or work weekends with short notice.

•Must be able to stand long periods of time.

•Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

•Must be able to provide onsite support for troubleshooting.

**Desired Characteristics**

•Familiarity with a large Point of Sale application is desired.

•Familiarity with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as it pertains to hardware and software solutions is a plus.

•Familiarity with PCI, Sarbanes-Oxley, and/or EMV a plus.

•Strong team oriented interpersonal and communication skills.

•Experience with general programming/scripting languages (Batch, VBscript, Powershell, etc.).

•Experience with general programming languages (.Net, Windows Forms, ASP.Net).

•Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively contribute to multiple projects in an efficient manner.

•Ability to manage a high volume of details with excellent accuracy.

•Strong track record meeting targets and objectives.

•Able to listen and communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.

•Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional peers.

•Experience in the hospitality industry preferred.

•Results oriented with a history of problem resolution and prevention.
