Position Description
Concur, the most profitable and fastest growing Software as a Service provider in the world, is looking for a Service Management DevOps Engineer to support our mobile platforms. As part of a global Service Management team, you will be focused on the technologies behind Concur’s Cloud Services. This is a fast growing global team with the ability to make significant difference to Concur’s service offerings by having a strong influence to impact performance, stability, availability and architecture.

This role is about:

·  Open source tech chops -- World class system and application administration, support, maintenance, configuration management for an industry leading product with over 10 million users

·  Ownership -- Active monitoring and response, automation, continuous integration and delivery while measuring and reporting on customer experience, application health/performance, load & capacity planning and other metrics and analytics

·  Accountability -- Deep troubleshooting around production issues and performing root cause analysis and being on a rotating on-call schedule participating in incident management and resolution

·  Passion –- Being tool agnostic and passionate about new technology. Interacting with a variety of technologies and tools to identify issues and solutions for Concur and work with other groups to manage the identification and resolution of product or production issues

·  Customer focus -- Participation in day-to-day service requests for applications hosted by Concur, working directly with customers, developers, engineers and stakeholders in an Agile and DevOps environment to achieve the best customer experience

·  Community and Collaboration -- Participation on various company-wide projects and collaborate with non-technical colleagues in a dynamic Service Management team and occasionally travel to other Concur offices for training, collaboration and knowledge transfer sessions

You are:

·  A seasoned system engineer, working with a wide variety of open source technologies to support an enterprise production environment

·  Have understanding of modern web technologies -- in a customer facing production environment -- with networking experience and advanced application troubleshooting skills

·  Have deep experience with configuration management, maintenance, the CLI and an understanding of ITIL principles and Agile practices

·  Have understanding of virtualization technologies -- experience using a variety of hypervisors and have experience building on the cloud

·  Have familiarity with service management techniques and tools and experience with issue tracking/ticket/project/workflow software like Jira

·  Have strong scripting experience in BASH or Python (PowerShell nice to have)

·  Demonstrate an understanding (and importance of) using best practice and process, governance and oversight -- collaborating with many diverse teams -- to support a secure environment and adhere to compliance regulations

What do you need to bring?

·  BS in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience

·  4+ years hands-on expertise with a wide variety of open source technologies -- for example:  MySQL, PHP, Linux, RabbitMQ, Couchbase, AWS and a variety of other cloud services

·  4+ years hands-on experience in Linux system administration, preferably RHEL or CentOS

·  4+ years hands-on experience with PHP, Apache, Tomcat, Nginx and other web server technologies

·  Multi-year experience supporting production instances of large scale SaaS, Cloud-based or mobile applications

·  Familiarity with issue and ticket tracking/project/workflow software -- for example: JIRA

·  Understanding and experience with virtualization technologies - experience using tools like VMWare and AWS preferred

·  Deep understanding of logging, infrastructure management and monitoring tools -- for example: New Relic, AppDynamics, Splunk, ExtraHop, Elasticsearch, Zenoss and similar

·  Strong scripting experience in BASH or Python and expertise in using the command line to support a variety of tasks, systems and applications

·  Experience supporting and working with a variety of modern database technologies (MySQL and/or Couchbase a plus)

·  Experience with Agile and sprint/scrum based working methodologies

·  Network troubleshooting skills in a distributed enterprise environment

·  Hands-on experience with automation technologies like Puppet, Chef or similar, understanding of container technologies like Docker

·  Understanding of software development processes and understanding of how software gets made and delivered: SDLC, IDE’s, code repositories like Github, QA/Testing environments, build servers, change and release management
