The Multi-Media Journalist enterprises and generates daily news stories for live broadcast, station website(s) and all current and future media platforms.  In addition, the Multi-Media Journalist:

•Shoots and edits news material.

•Performs engaging stand-ups or live shots as assigned.

•Drives and operates microwave vehicles.

•Posts stories on station website.

•Strategically engages in social media.

Essential Job Functions

45%-Gathers information and images in the field for broadcast, station website(s) and all current and future media platforms.  Records moving video and takes still pictures.  Determines appropriate lighting for all video/picture platforms.  Works collaboratively with Multi Media Photographer-Jouranlist or alone.  Writes exceptional news copy for broadcast, station website(s) and online text.

25%-Edits images/video captured for live broadcast, station website(s) and all current and future media platforms.

20%-Posts news content including text, video and still images to station website(s).

10%-Strategically engages in social media.

Minimum Qualifications:

All must be met to be considered.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience:

Three years television reporter/photojournalist experience.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to carry 40-100 pounds.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Ability to shoot and edit with speed, efficiency and creativity in a newsroom or field environment.

Ability to produce high quality news stories across all content platforms.

Fluency in Spanish preferred.

Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s License and a clean driving record.

Non-linear editing experience preferred.
