The job of the Trafficker is very diverse.  Starting with the creative trafficking process, the Trafficker will be responsible for coordinating the trafficking of our campaigns with our outsource partners, our site direct publishers, or in the case of a last minute launch, trafficking themselves. This step requires heavy project management and account management as they’ll be working with various partners to ensure timely setup. 


The Trafficker is also responsible for troubleshooting technical issues and impression discrepancies. This requires someone with experience in ad trafficking as they’ll need to investigate, identify areas of issues, and work with various partners including client to resolve. Lastly, a Trafficker will manage our local site specific campaigns, coordinating with our publishing partners to ensure campaigns are delivering and performing. This requires technical expertise, superb account management, and some optimization/strategy as they’ll have to work with partner to perform to client’s goals and objectives for the campaign.


Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the trafficking all campaign creative. 

  • Orchestrate and manage our outsource partners to ensure campaign trafficking is completed and QA their work.
  • In last minute circumstances, traffic campaign creative.
  • In the case of Local site-specific campaigns, send DFP ad tags to publisher partners. Work with partner to confirm spec meets requirements. Account manage so the campaign meets the delivery and performance requirements.

Troubleshoot all creative and ad serving issues. 

  • Test all agency campaign creative to ensure that ads are serving and clicking through to a live landing page before trafficking. This requires heavy technical expertise and understanding of ad tech ecosystem.
  • Quality control Gamut DFP tags and make sure they are live before sending them to publishing partners. Strategize and implement additional tagging requirements and which vendor to use based on client’s objectives.
  • In cases of creative issues, troubleshoot and work back with publishers, ad agencies, and creative agencies to ensure properly functioning creative. Come up with creative solutions to mitigate issues moving forward.

Manage Local site specific run-of-site (ROS) campaigns. 

  • Work with internal planning teams and publishers to provide timely launch. Will join kick off calls on high budget/strategic campaigns. Monitor delivery and performance to ensure goals are being met and make strategic suggestions to Sales on places to move impressions to ensure full budget is delivered.
  • Compare 1st party delivery numbers to 3rd party numbers to proactively identify discrepancies and troubleshoot those discrepancies with publishers and agencies. Work with vendors if it’s a platform issue.

Manage the delivery of high impact units and homepage takeovers. 

  • Coordinate with publishers to ensure they have received creative and are ready to launch on time.
  • Check websites and reporting the morning of launches to ensure correct creative is live and delivery is tracking correctly.

Ensure creative is received and being built according to deadlines. 

  • Work with planning team to ensure client is sending creative within our required turnaround times. Project manage internal teams so that creatives are being built in the required spec. Liaise between CMG creative, outsourcing team, advertiser, and planning to ensure creatives are approved and ready to go by launch date.
  • If creative is being built by sites, request test pages for client approval. Liaise between publisher and advertiser to ensure creatives are approved and ready to go by launch date. 

Qualifications


  • BA/BS Degree required
  • 1-5 years of digital ad operations trafficking experience
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Superior time management and organizational skills as well as the capacity to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Experience with online ad serving systems, such as DFP, a huge plus
  • Knowledge of 3rd party ad tags (DFA/DCM, PointRoll, Sizmek, Flashtalking, etc.) helpful
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and JavaScript helpful, but not required
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in both a team environment and independently
  • Superior verbal and written communication and customer service skills
  • Flexible, personable attitude with the willingness to go the extra mile
  • Strong desire to grow with company and learn new skills
  • 1-5 years of digital ad operations trafficking experience
  • Must reside in the New York Metro Area
