ADP is hiring a Director of Payroll Product Compliance with expertise in Statutory / Legislative Payroll Compliance Research, taxes and regulations. As a Director of Payroll Product Compliance, reporting to the Director of Product Development, you will be responsible for mission critical compliance requirements gathering and analysis for Payroll products including Administration of payroll processing, payroll tax calculations and payroll tax reporting. The Director of Payroll Product Compliance identifies, analyzes, controls, calculates, prepares, audits and announces statutory requirements for Canadian Provinces and Territories


Things You'll Do:

  • Owns tracking, publishing and communicating Payroll Federal and Provincial Legislative changes including (but not limited to):Ensure payroll related business and statutory items/requirements are documented and communicated timely to Product Development teams
    • Federal/Provincial/Territorial legislation
    • Year End reporting and Tax form changes
    • Electronic filing, Federal & provincial
    • Employment / Labour standards
    • Workers' Compensation Standards and electronic filing
    • ROE forms and Direct filing
  • Use of resources to seek out statutory information to ensure that businesses have what they need to maintain compliance such as jurisdictional website searches, tax publication, newspaper reviews, RSS feeds, CPA alerts, CPA new letters...etc.
  • Keep abreast of payroll, payroll tax and payroll tax reporting trends and issues that may potentially have statutory impact to ADP's products.
  • Support all Statutory and Compliance Product releases including the creation of validation documentation and testing scenarios.
  • Prepare clear & robust internal communications to Sales, Marketing and Product Management and other business stakeholders
  • Point contact for all Agency related escalations and resolutions including (but not limited to):Coordinate generation of test samples to be submitted for agency and ensure approvals are obtained timely
    • CRA Electronic Filing Services (T4, T4A, T4A-NR, NR4 filing)
    • Revenue Quebec electronic services (Relevé 1 and 2 submission)
    • Service Canada (ROE)
    • Northwest Territories/Nunavut (payroll Tax)
    • Ministry of Finance Ontario Business System Account (EHT bulk filing )
    • WorkSafe BC
    • WCB of Nova Scotia
  • Review new products through development to guide best in class compliance adherence related to processing payroll.
  • Liaise with Product Management, Sales and Marketing and assist in understanding compliance regulations across all Canadian business segments.
  • Lead monitoring of evolving rules that may impact payroll management and people management for ADP clients.

Experience You Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Tax, Accounting, or related area and 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) certification is an asset
  • Ability to articulate the scope of compliance regulations for cross functional digestion.
  • Proven ability to facilitate discussions and activities necessary to lead compliance.
  • Proven analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of PC, business, and project planning software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Deep Payroll and HR knowledge & experience.
  • Research skills to continuously keep abreast on changing marketing trends and dynamics
  • Ability to prioritize requirements based on client and business needs.
  • Proven ability to develop deep customer insights
  • Exceptional communication skills; written and oral.
  • Ability to win customers, influence partners and establish credibility with senior executives.
  • Proficiency working with data
  • Strong collaborative teaming and consensus building abilities as well as proficiency in cross-discipline cooperation.
  • Experience in the Human Capital Management industry is a definite asset
