Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Habitability Logistics Manager to provide logistics and administrative support to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) Habitability Improvement team. The position will be located at Norfolk Naval Ship Yard, Portsmouth VA.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Provide material acquisition support for the acquisition of government furnished material, including design, monitoring and recommending changes required to support the continued development and production

  2. Conduct research and provide technical input for the solicitation of multi-year IDIQ habitability material contracts

  3. Develop/Update product descriptions and specifications, including drawings and sketches.

  4. Prepare draft responses to offers technical questions and provide technical expertise for the conduct of Pre-Award Surveys.

  5. Prepare procurement documentation for the purchase of material as identified in the Ship Project Installation Drawings

  6. As Directed, determine the availability of surplus material on-hand at the TYCOM habitability material warehouse and reassign as appropriate to support projects.

  7. Provide necessary liaison to ensure receipt of procurement documents and proper distribution and resolution of any problems that may be encountered.

  8. Provide control of the receipt, inventory and issuance of Government Furnished Material

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Logistics or related field and at least 3 years of job related experience or equivalent.

  • Experience supporting Naval Habitability Moderations/Upgrades

  • Prior Procurement Experience

  • Knowledge of the structure and role of government oversight of contracted ship availabilities for US Navy Surface ship Habitability upgrades as it relates to the naval Supervising Activity (NSA)

  • Good communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications;

  • Organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required

  • Position may require travel

  • Position requires a Secret Security Clearance
