The HR Benefits Specialist of the Cox Media Group Employee Resource Center (ERC) administers the CMG HR and benefit policies and procedures andprovides internal guidance and support to approximately 5500 employees, managers and benefit providers. This Benefits Specialist position will serve as a liaison with Corporate HRIS, Corporate Benefits, HRTS staff as well as HR and Business leaders. The specialist is accountable for data quality control and for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviors necessary to provide exceptional service to colleagues, employees, managers and contracted providers and vendors in a service center environment.Must have 3+ years of experience with Peoplesoft 8.9+ writing queries and benefits administration.

Develops and maintains productive and effective client relationships with all employees, colleagues and vendors by providing excellent customer service and taking initiative to respond and resolve HR and Benefit issues.
Responds to inquiries and requests submitted to the company Employee Resource Center through telephone, email, incident tracking systems and other forms of communication used in a centralized, shared services processing environment. 
Serves as the first point of contact regarding HR and benefits policies and processes for all employees, responding to and resolving inquiries, troubleshooting and escalating issues to appropriate 2nd level support services.

Serves as subject matter expert for administration and compliance with applicable laws and company policy for benefit programs and HR policies, including but not limited to: health & wellness benefits, 401k, pension, FMLA, short term disability, other company leave policies, annual open enrollment, and additional employee programs.

Performs data entry into and creates queries from PeopleSoft HR/Payroll application and other shared services applications, and maintains strong knowledge of HRIS system relationships between HR, payroll and benefits processes, including understanding of associated processes.  
Educates employees and managers by conducting online training webinars for company benefits, policies/procedures, related online support applications, new hire orientations, etc.

Supports the shared services team by assessing needs for correction and sequential assistance supported by HRTS. 

Identifies and recommends changes to existing applications, processes, practices and procedures to improve efficiency and customer experience.  Participates on application projects such as direct online access, open enrollment, PS upgrades, payroll year end and other annual or enhancement ERP systems projects.

Partners with Lead HR/Benefits Specialist and Sr. Manager – ERC with projects as needed such as company reorganizations by providing reports and by performing severance calculations and coordination of all communication packets.  

Demonstrates initiative and good judgment in prioritizing and managing individual workload.

Participates in other projects as needed and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or business related field required, or 5+ years relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years human resources, benefit administration, and/or payroll experience.
  • 3+ years Oracle PeopleSoft HCM version 8.9+ experience, Benefits Administration and ability to write queries, strongly preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of employment laws and benefit compliance, such as FLSA, FMLA and ADA.
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, highly organized and able to multi-task.
  • Demonstrates clear written and verbal communications.  Good punctuation, spelling, grammar and attention to detail a must. Excellent presentation/public speaking skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively and thrive in a high volume, heavy paced work environment with competing deadlines and constantly changing priorities.
  • PHR certification a plus.
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to work with confidential data and work with high degree of integrity and ethics.
