ADP Network Data & Voice team is operating Office, Datacenter, Cloud network and Voice infrastructure across the globe.

The Network team is seeking a talented and passionate Senior F5 Engineer who will help to take a step forward in their automation journey.

This specialist role will join a global network engineering team that is responsible for architecture, design and delivery of corporate network services for datacenter and branch offices in a mission-critical enterprise.

The successful candidate will be crucial in the design and deployment of innovative solutions while delivering efficient automation for these network services.

Responsibilities of the role include: Architect, Design, Build & support Network and Security solutions.

In a global team, you will be particularly involved in EMEA issues. You will also provide level 3 support and may be on call (off-site) during the night and weekends.

Mission

As an agility facilitator, a multi-faceted IT enthusiast possessing a growth mindset, ready to learn and help transform technology, you will:

  • Design, implement, and support scalable networking solutions to address a variety of business challenges.
  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers).
  • Excel in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task and work not only on projects, but also provide operational support.
  • Be a collaborative teammate that will work across multi-functional groups and have the ability and willingness to mentor others.
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
  • Monitor performance, system resource utilization, trending and capacity planning, ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Configure and administer network monitoring tools.
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
  • Implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with Security Organization
  • Working very closely with network/voice/system Engineering teams, you will help us to tackle operation tasks by automating and re-engineering our process.
  • Provide Level 3 support, troubleshoot network failures and performance issues.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation covering all of the above.

Required Knowledge/Skills

  • Master degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Telecom.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar Security Engineer position.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Automation position.
  • Experience in leading technical projects.
  • Fluent in English spoken and written.
  • Advanced & In-depth knowledge of F5 BIG-IP components & operation around:

o Virtual server & Pool creation

o SSL Profiles & operation

o Advanced iRule operation & creation including bypass logic, Boolean logic extensions, working with multiple "events", and global variables

o SNAT / NAT

o Interaction with DNS/GTMs

o Advanced understanding of Routing Domain configuration and usage of dynamic protocols (BGP, OSPF)

  • Advanced understanding of Networking & common network protocols ex TCP/IP
  • Thorough understanding of the http, and SSL/TLS protocols.
  • Thorough understanding of Web & Network Security
  • Hands-on expertise and experience with the Chrome, Firefox, Fiddler, and httpwatch Developer tools to intercept and analyze http traffic flows originating from traditional web apps.
  • Hands-on familiarity and experience with Charles Proxy (or equivalent) and proxy technology in general.
  • Hands-on familiarity with using the Charles Proxy (or equivalent) to intercept and analyze http traffic flows originating from native, hybrid, and progressive mobile apps
  • Hands-on familiarity and experience to discover all the web application entry and end points after discussions with the application owners.
  • Ability to translate the web and mobile high value transactions flows into sequence diagrams
  • Ability to clearly communicate in writing and verbal communication the high value transaction flows to fellow colleagues
  • Familiarity / responsibility of an SRE (Site reliability engineer) role that focuses on availability, capacity, monitoring, performance and automation of the infrastructure and technologies used in day-to-day operations.
  • Familiarity with authentication concepts and technologies
  • Configure and administer F5 infrastructure in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment (Scrum ceremonies, sprints, etc.)

Required Skills in Automation & Scripting

  • Ability to drive consistent improvement by refining tooling, automation, and documentation.
  • Ability to automate the Business As Usual tasks reducing thus the workload. (Ex. VIP creation, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience creating "software defined" network infrastructure
  • Knowledge and experience in scripting and programming with Python and shell script
  • Experience of interacting with network devices through Rest API's and Ansible

Required Soft Skills

  • The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a sense of listening, thus ensuring a good relationship with the peers and the hierarchy.
  • The candidate should be pedagogical and comfortable in knowledge transfer and technical discussions when the views and convictions are divergent.
  • The candidate should have a good capacity to manage priorities.
  • The candidate should be proactive and capable to adapt in a global and multi-technological environment.

Desirable Skills and experience

  • Skilled at working with multiple encoding formats such as JSON and XML
  • Knowledge of integrating existing network and infrastructure management platforms
  • Ability and desire to contribute creative ideas to solve technical and business problems
  • Positive attitude, enthusiastic, and drive to perform and demonstrate results
