The successful candidate will manage a team of program managers as an integral part of the SAP Ariba Cloud Engineering Services team. In this high-impact position you will work closely with cross functional leaders and stakeholders to set goals focused on driving requirements gathering and planning against agreed upon delivery dates. You will bring a level of thought leadership for consistency, integrity and intensity into strategic project scoping, initiation, planning, implementation and execution. You are detail-oriented and able to understand the bigger picture by using your technical expertise and sharp problem-solving abilities to prioritize and manage blocking issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the team through strategic projects for Cloud Operations.
  • Lead the team through their portfolio of projects from initiation to completion in addition to fostering a work environment for team members to grow and keep morale high.
  • Coordinate with cross functional teams consisting of team members within Operations (Production Operations, Sysadmin, DBA, Network Administrators, Tools) and Operations (Support, Development, QA, Product Management, Legal) on upcoming release & feature planning to align Operations objectives and resources.
  • Maintain Operations dashboard to track various organizational metrics for Operations in addition to project status.  Provide senior leadership and stakeholders with metrics on business accomplishments and progress.
  • Manage and control challenges to a program by working with stakeholders.
  • Partner with the security operations team for audit and certification initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years managing individuals within a cloud / operations environment.  Experience with managing / mentoring / coaching program managers or project managers.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with managing IT / operations related projects.
  • Must be able to lead a cross functional team consisting of team members from various groups within Operations and groups outside Operations based on the need of a project.
  • Must be able to present a clear project status to upper management on a timely manner.
  • Experience with managing a large-scale project lasting many months.
  • Experience with various systems development life cycle models such as Agile Scrum or iterative development models.
  • Experience with MS Project, JIRA, Tableau, and other modeling tools.
  • Good understanding of various technologies used for hosting large-scale web applications and capacity planning.
  • Experience with change control management and process.
  • Experience with planning and designing a Disaster Recovery process, and managing the disaster simulation testing.
  • Good understanding of data security standards.
  • Experience with datacenter planning and expansions.
