Manager, UX Design (Fully Remote)

Responsibilities:

The UX Manager provides day to day management of a group of user experience designers. Works with other departments to help define objectives for proposed web pages, sites, software applications and end-user interactions and to collaborate on the overall design and ease of use of the end-to-end user experience. He or she works closely with direct reports to ensure optimal execution of projects and initiatives to realize these objectives.

 

Responsible for planning, leading, organizing, controlling and staffing the resources within the group, and coordinating the group's activities and interfaces within the Engineering department and the company.

 

Responsible for evaluating the needs of internal customers and stakeholders and ensuring their needs are fully understood and met, and for ensuring their satisfaction.

  • Helps set and contributes to the goals of the team
  • Acts as mentor and motivator and encourages collaboration within the team
  • Recognized as willing and helpful to answer questions
  • Works with direct reports to establish regular objectives and tracks their progress
  • Writes and delivers performance reviews
  • Reviews and approves team and individual deliverables; maintains quality standards
  • Acts as a mediator and settles team disputes quickly and professionally
  • Interacts internally and externally with peers within Engineering, Product and other groups, often involving situations which require influencing and persuading others.
  • Inspires, excites and motivates User Experience Design team and key stakeholders.
  • Supports a collaborative, innovative culture that advocates user-centered design and a positive customer experience.
  • Takes responsibility when problems or opportunities are identified within the group, and initiates actions that result in high-quality solutions.
  • Perceived to be a leader by others, who look to the individual for guidance and direction.
  • Manages design activities within the group, as well as direct hands-on participation where warranted.
