Location: Palo Alto, CA

 

Purpose and Objective: Ariba, Inc. seeks a Quality Specialist at our Palo Alto, California office location to design, create, and maintain performance test scripts.

 

Expectations and Tasks: Automate performance testing. Understand the SLA and design performance test scenarios to validate SLA’s. Execute various performance tests to validate SLA’s and find out potential performance issues. Review and report test results and metrics to the engineering leadership and senior members of the technical team. Represent the performance team and manage the team's deliverables and commitments. Maintain or create sizing guides and be a consultant for scoping customer hardware needs. Work closely with operations group, system and DB administrators to coordinate needed resources and facilitate requests made by the performance team. Handle special requests from ops for hardware testing and certification. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members. Participate in architecture discussions

 

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study and 5 years of experience is required. The company will also accept a Master's degree and 2 years of experience

 

Work Experience: Experience must involve at least two years of working experience in the following: performance testing, performance engineering and application development for web applications; performance testing tools LoadRunner or JMeter; leveraging a variety of tools and techniques to measure and optimize application performance in a multi-tiered environment, including UI, Server, Database, Network, and Services; developing performance test and automation frameworks for development teams to utilize as part of delivery pipeline testing; debugging performance issues/identifying bottlenecks in the application and its corresponding layers; performance monitoring tools such as Wily, SiteScope, Dynatrace, HP Diagnostics; performance bottlenecks at different levels of application; performance benchmarking of Web and Mobile Enterprise wide applications; object oriented programming language;
scripting language, including shell scripting; RDBMS (Oracle); and UNIX based environments.

 

Travel: 10% travel required.
