In this role, you will represent ADP RS with some of our key institutional distribution partners. As the liaison with these financial firms and as a key partner advocate, the you will be responsible for the mutual success of the partnership and the partner’s overall satisfaction with ADP.  As the Alliance Relationship Manager, you will position yourself within the senior levels of the partner's organization.  However, you may also interact with the partner’s middle management and department staff when necessary.

Understanding the partner’s short and long-term goals relative to their retirement business, and the strategic opportunity they present to ADP RS, the Alliance Relationship Manager serves as a facilitator of services across the Retirement Services organization and is focused on providing marketing and sales support to ensure the continued growth and success of their assigned partnerships.

This will also include making sure that your partners understand ADP’s positions, objectives, strategies and strengths to lead the partner toward new strategic growth initiatives that they may not have otherwise considered.

As the face of ADP RS with your partners, you must be able to cut through “red tape” to resolve any firm level issues that come up and provide excellent service and resolution when necessary.

The nature of what you do every day will vary, however, your #1 goal is to create an experience for our institutional financial partners that is simple, easy and attentive. You will work closely with the team of Alliance Relationship Managers as well as other key stakeholders in the business, such as service, operations, product, sales enablement and GPT to ensure a collaborative approach to meeting our partners’ needs.

Quarterly, you will conduct insightful, comprehensive business reviews with our partners that will clearly show the areas of our partnership that are working well, highlight growth and proactively identify areas of opportunity, both short and long term. This will include identifying new partnership strategies and promoting key ADP strategic marketing and sales initiatives etc.

Daily, weekly, monthly responsibilities will include working closely with your internal team and the broader business to effectively communicate and oversee the resolution any critical issues with all ADP entities as well as to communicate areas of satisfaction or perceived improvement.

To thrive in this role, you must be a “people person” who enjoys working with others and can have productive, meaningful conversations with C-Suite executive level partners. A strong working knowledge of the retirement services industry, especially as it pertains to financial institutions and advisors, is a must. You must be proactively staying abreast of industry updates, competitor and other Alliance partner changes and have an eye for identifying potential risks and dependencies that will impact the success of your partnerships.

The Alliance Relationship Manager must also have strong working knowledge of the ADP RS business, key strategic initiatives and the role the Alliance Channel plays in helping the business to meet it’s strategic goals. You must be able to work with different parts of the business in a collaborative way, with consistent visibility and communication with other ADP RS organizations upon whom the success of our partnerships is highly dependent. Close working relationship with our investment and product team will be critical in understanding the uniqueness of each partner relationship and product.

The Alliance Relationship Manager will be someone who can bring people together, unite people around a collaborative vision and oversee the execution and delivery of key partner initiatives.

What you’ll do:

  • Represent ADP RS with some of our top financial institution partners.
  • Understand the needs of our partners from day-to-day reporting & operations to supporting their long-term growth initiatives.
  • Provide exceptional service in the cases of escalated advisor service issues from the home office.
  • Work collaboratively with the team of Alliance Relationship Managers to provide the business with meaningful insight on partner strategies, risks, industry and competitor trends etc.

What you can expect on a typical day:

  • Partner Support. You will help our partners manage their ADP RS business by ensuring their reporting, service and sales needs are met. Support might also involve partnering with multiple parts of the business and teams for troubleshooting and delivering a seamless partner experience.
  • Collaboration. You will work with the Alliance Relationship Manager team to understand the scope of their partnerships, discuss trends and opportunities for scalable strategic initiatives and share feedback regarding any unique opportunities you see within your own partnerships.
  • Insight. You’ll be relied upon to provide proactive insight regarding the direction in which your partners are headed, leveraging market, industry and legislative trends into your proposed strategies and provide the business with relevant competitor and partner information.

 

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

  • At least 5 years of experience in financial services and/or retirement services industries.
  • Familiarity with mutual funds and basic investment management principlas.
  • Experience in managing executive level relationships/partnerships with clients and third parties.
  • Comprehensive understanding of competitive advantages and disadvantages of ADP RS Products.

 

A college degree is great but not required. What's more important is having the skills to do the job.
