SAP Concur is seeking a Director of Business Planning and Operations, reporting into the Chief of Staff for the Concur CMO. In this role, the leader will be managing the rhythm of the business for the marketing organization, business planning and day-to-day operations. The individual will be required to think holistically and strategically about key operational rhythms, organizational processes, budget and communications, while enabling the organization to move forward towards our key objectives. The leader must have a collaborative mindset and able to work across the organization with marketing and business leaders. The Director must be able to lead by influence, foster collaboration, embrace best practices across a highly diverse, matrixed and globally distributed organization.




·       Partner with the CMO’s Chief of Staff and marketing leadership team to establish a scalable operating model to drive process efficiencies and simplification, to multiply existing best practices, and to foster a culture of trust and transparency.

·       Establish operational processes and manage the rhythm of the business that includes Concur QBRs, SAP QBRs, all-hands, leadership summits and offsites.

·       Help develop, track and measure global marketing KPIs against goals.

·       Establish and manage global marketing planning process, budgeting, reporting and communications cadence. Including aligning planning with SAP.  

·       Strong bias for action, keep momentum on key projects and enable the marketing leadership to stay abreast of critical decisions or deadlines.

·       Structure and execute operational and strategic initiatives by developing work plans, gathering and synthesizing relevant data, and developing recommendations.

·       Able to successfully navigate within a highly matrixed and global marketing organization.

·       Comfortable with ambiguity and able to translate dialog into actions and expected outcomes.

·       Strong business and marketing acumen with an eye on profitable growth.

·       Ability to influence and build relationships with all levels of the organization and able to represent global perspectives.




Specialized Knowledge & Skills

·       10+ years business experience in B2B software industry, Enterprise and SMB organizations.

·       Marketing experience preferred.

·       Relentlessly resourceful and able to drive projects autonomously, with limited oversight.

·       High EQ and capable of building strong relationships up, down, and sideways in the organization.

·       Strong communication skills with ability to clearly explain complex issues to a range of audiences.

·       Experience managing cross-functional projects with an on the business outcomes.

·       Exceptional problem-solving, business judgement, and analytical skills.

·       BS required, MBA preferred.

·       Strong relationship and consensus building skill – both in developing relationships with the field, other cross-functional constituents as well as critical third-party resources when necessary.

·       Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills. 

·       Exceptional analytic, budget and forecasting skills and experience making in-source vs. outsource decisions.

·       High level of business, executive functioning, marketing acumen, and decision-making expertise.

·       Flexible and adept at navigating ambiguity and managing multiple projects, deadlines and competing priorities.

·       Highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced team environment and is readily adaptable to changing market and organizational dynamics.

·       Natural curiosity, and excitement to stay abreast with the latest marketing technology trends and best practices.

·       Agile thinker. Able to think outside of the box -- or remove the box -- and pursue continual process improvement.
