Job Overview: 

The Functional Consultant’s role is to gather customer requirements as it pertains to configuration and data to ensure successful Implementation of the project assigned. The Functional Consultant is responsible for the configuration of a customer’s specific environments as well as all client functional knowledge transfer. Under the direction of the Concur Project Manager, the Functional Consultant completes project milestones, client documentation, and transitions the client to their Production environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide contributions to Concur’s project methodology and document library which includes development of new documents/processes as well as updates to existing documents/processes
  • Represent the team on cross-functional internal projects.
  • Mentor new Consultants that join the team.
  • Ability to handle complex, global, multi-phase implementations which may include additional complex enhancements.
  • Ability to lead client training, design and knowledge transfer sessions both remote and on-site.
  • Gather functional and business requirements from client and translate into a functional configuration workbook to according to client needs and scope of the task order.
  • Provide business acumen for external clients and strive to understand the business problem we are solving in order to best configure the system and exceed client expectations.
  • Configure at a macro level as well as specific features and functionality at a module level.
  • Liaison with client team members and Concur internal resources to ensure understanding and clear communications.
  • Ensure completion of deliverables, managing schedules, meeting milestones, and ensuring creative /technical success.
  • Support client’s testing cycles - Research complex customer problems, issues, and circumstances and provide recommendations, alternatives, and risk assessments to project manager.
  • Communicate consistently and regularly client issue status and progress with the Project Manager.
  • Ability to conduct functional reviews of configurations completed by other Functional Consultants.
  • Be aware of, and comply with, all corporate policies.
  • Up to 30% Travel.

 

Qualifications

Education, Experience & Training required:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years consulting experience in the federal government
  • Ability to pass a background check
