This role is accountable for supporting the delivery of scalable, high-quality and functionally complete software for a division of the Videa Platform.
This role is also accountable for the day-to-day and career management of a cross-functional team of technology professionals that are responsible for supporting and enabling the delivery of critical business projects.

  • Plan and execute technology initiatives which require the coordination of resources and timelines across the multiple teams
  • Assist in creating and implementing the technology roadmap and multi-year plan for the division
  • Assist in the production of detailed time line for each application release and implementing effective project control by monitoring the progress of the software release and reporting the status.
  • Maintain strategic knowledge of the organization, initiatives, applications, systems, etc. within their area of the Videa Platform
  • Lead a cross-functional team that provides support to the delivery of Technology projects within a Division of the organization. This team is responsible for working with Scrum Teams on the planning of software solutions and executing the implementation in the production environment, including one of several of following functions:
    • Development: Software Engineers and Data Developers
    • QA and Testing
    • Architecture: Applications, Data and Integrations
    • Technical Operations and Release Management
  • Directs and prioritizes the work load of subordinate personnel.
  • Communicating effectively across the technology organization to ensure that the team is completely aligned to the business objectives and can do the job effectively.
  • Assess the technical soundness of features and proposed solutions
  • Monitor all aspects of system performance and maintain a roadmap for improving performance
  • Review upcoming work to identify and begin managing cross-team and cross-division dependencies well before work begins
  • Lead communications with the Business and Application Support teams about upcoming software releases.
  • Work closely with Application Support groups to address customer issues and communicate status of open cases.
  • Support Scrum Teams by providing prompt access to pertinent information and removing roadblocks that may impede delivery of critical projects.
  • Create a culture that promotes automation and low tolerance for manual repetitive tasks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Technology Divisions to align priorities and dependencies.
  • Directing, hiring, mentoring and growing technical staff within the team
  • Develop leadership skills within the team members and drive success for the organization.
  • Build strong inter-personal relationships with peers and other key stakeholders that can help smooth execution.
  • Communicate regularly with the Technology Division leadership and all users of information services and systems.
  • Keep current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements.
  • Performs salary administration and conducts interviews and makes recommendations for new hires, consultants and/or replacement personnel.
  • Manage talent that can work in high performing teams and deliver optimal results for the business.

Startup office environment. 
The entity is an early stage start up with in the Cox Media Group family of businesses, located in Atlanta that whose goal is to rapidly bring a series of products, services and new technology to the traditional TV media marketplace.  The company was started late in 2013 and is rapidly expanding its efforts to provide improved operating efficiencies in several key areas of local broadcast and traditional TV media sales.


  • 8+ years of overall engineering experience including several years of hands-on data/software development or QA experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Leadership positions
  • Proven experience working very closely with software development and product development teams to deliver application and infrastructure solutions in a collaborative, innovative manner.
  • Experience with scaled systems, data and system integration.
  • Proven expertise in participating in full cycles of technology solutions to include strategic planning, implementation, integration, and process re-engineering that support business drivers and growth.
  • Strong leadership, team development, and change management skills
  • Ability to be an effective leader in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate plans into phased actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate across organizations to optimize outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.  Masters’ degree preferred.
  • Other important qualities to have to be suited for the job include the ability to manage a team, attention to detail, and good interpersonal skills.
  • Working experience in fast-paced startup environments.
  • Management of multi-disciplinary and diverse teams, including Tech Ops, Release, Architecture and others.
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices.
