**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced, creative, highly talented Senior, Master Planner / Urban Designer for immediate employment in the Coral Gables, FL office.

The Senior Master Planner / Urban Designer works in conjunction the Florida DP+E Leadership group and any relevant end market sector lead to develop a ‘best in class’ AECOM Masterplanning offer providing specific innovation skills. This role would suit an ambitious Urban Designer professional with a strong track record of running significant projects from inception to completion as lead Project Manager who wishes to be involved in a range of interesting and challenging projects and develop their design and project management skills further. You will have strong team leadership skills, client awareness and a solid understanding of the commercial aspects of business applied to Urban Design. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to develop into a management role as the business grows.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Independently lead a team of up to seven professionals at various levels for planning and design assignments, with private and government agencies

+ Set the overall design/ planning standard for the team in general in various projects

+ Expected to independently lead multiple large and small scape planning and design assignments

+ Handle complete responsibility of technical and financial goals of assignment delivering projects within budget

+ Prepare proposals/ presentations and participate in multi-disciplinary bids coordinating with various in-house and external professionals

+ Generate leads for the team and company in planning as well as other disciplines in the Southeast USA and Latin America

+ Coordinate with in-house legal and finance teams for approvals regarding bids and projects

+ Engage and manage internal and external sub-consultants as and when required for assignments

+ Work within the company project management protocols and procedures

+ Team management and resourcing, identify skill development requirements

+ Conduct performance management reviews from time to time apart from mentoring the team

+ Perform technical QA/ QC of project deliverables

+ At least 20-30% travel time is anticipated

+ Assist the Director in preparing reporting documents for senior management

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Planning or Urban Design or related field

+ 8+ years of experience as a master planner / urban designer working on a variety of projects involving multiple disciplines

+ Should have independently managed a team of at least 3-5 professionals

+ Promising portfolio of at least three large scale and five small scale design/ planning work which demonstrates technical and management capabilities across a variety of planning and urban design projects

+ Demonstrate an ability to draw on various benchmark projects

+ Engagement in projects at various stages including construction stage will be preferred

+ Experience in hands-on business development activities such as preparation of proposals and presentation to clients

+ Knowledge of Southeast USA regional development market is preferred

+ Experience with international urban design work, particularly in Latin America and Asia

+ Accreditation will be preferred along with membership of professional organizations

+ Participation in award winning projects will be an added advantage

+ Ability to conceive, design and communicate master plans and cityscapes from a blank canvas

+ Flair for design and strong graphic and illustrative capability

+ Excellent design, visualization, and graphic skills

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite software packages is a must

+ Excellent coordination skills and ability to work remotely with international teams and clients

+ Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

+ Strong conceptual ability highly regarded

+ Demonstrate the ability to work in large multi-disciplinary teams

+ Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to the time, effort, and open-minded perspective that professional growth requires

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential

+ Knowledge of contractual requirements and project financials

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master's Degree in Architecture, Planning or Urban Design or related field

+ Knowledge of GIS will be an added advantage
