Purpose and Objective: SAP America, Inc. seeks a Senior Support Engineer at our Newtown Square, PA location (and various client sites nationwide) to be responsible for understanding and proceeding on the new business models and operational challenges of our MaxAttention, Active Embedded, Enterprise Support customers.

 

Expectations and Tasks: Under the umbrella of MaxAttention Next Generation, provide the necessary methodology and content to drive the innovation agenda with continual redefining of requirements and industry business models. Besides delivering innovations, engage pro-actively with Premium Engagement and Enterprise Support customers using a holistic approach to analyze, understand and define action plans for customer's situation. Support customers in increasing the value they get out of their SAP Solution with reduced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Resolve production down situations and escalations. By doing so, ensure customer satisfaction and success, secure maintenance revenue and protect the SAP brand. Build supportability features, standardize and automate delivery of content and invent new delivery models. Responsible for positioning, planning, and implementation of Innovation projects and Operations projects at and for premium customers, especially in the area of S/4HANA, HANA-based SAP core portfolio, SCP, cloud, hybrid solution landscapes. Deliver SAP implementation and optimization services and projects for Enterprise Support, Safeguarding and MaxAttention customers in the area solution and landscape operations as well as process innovation and optimization, i.e. establishment of efficient operations and realization of functional and technical improvement. Participate in DBS customer escalations and project activities as required and assigned. Integrate product systems and business processes into SAP's Application Operations and Business Process Operations software and methodologies, as well as other applications, in order to create and enable end-to-end operations concepts and processes for customers. Integrate customer IT/IL processes with SAP Solution Manager and equivalent managing systems. Responsible for creation and delivery of product- and process-specific DBS Engineering Services content for SAP Premium Engagement customers to provide a wide portfolio of assessment, optimization, and engineering services specifically for SAP innovation products/digital transformation. Document and transfer technical and process knowledge (operations, optimization) to empower SAP employees and customers on their journey to transform and operate their business. Involved in a variety of tasks following methodology in the domain of assessment, analysis, and evaluation as well as development, implementation, testing, documentation, training, and service/project delivery. 40% travel required to various client sites nationwide.

 

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, Information Systems, or a related field and 5 years of experience; or alternatively, a Master's degree and 3 years of experience.

 

Work Experience: Experience must include 3 years of experience involving the following: creation and delivery of product- and process-specific services portfolio and content to provide a wide portfolio of assessment, optimization, and engineering services; positioning, planning, and implementation of Innovation projects and Run/SAP Solution Manager projects in the area of S/4HANA, HANA-based SAP core portfolio, SAP Cloud Platform, SAP cloud and hybrid solution landscapes; delivery of SAP implementation and optimization services and projects in the area of solution and landscape operations as well as process innovation and optimization; integration of systems and processes into SAP's Application Operations and Business Process Operations software and methodologies; integration of customer ITIL processes with SAP Solution Manager and equivalent managing systems; delivering SAP-software related projects (onsite/remote) and SAP Premium Program services (onsite/remote) to develop and apply SAP Operations methodology as well as establish, implement, and optimize organizations, processes and tools with the goal to improve customer's technical operations and/or transform customer's business processes and technical solution(s)/landscape(s); writing technical specifications and project plans and developing artifacts facilitating Operations; developing, coding, and rollout of content, artifacts, best practices, documentation material for and in SAP standard software and methodology as well as custom-specific solutions in projects; testing and validating SAP functionality and tools for and in SAP standard as well as custom-specific solutions; working closely with other staff and teams in context of an IT environment, project managers, tool owners and developers, service engineers, product support and escalation mangers but also directly with customers and clients to install, setup, configure, understand, and use selected SAP applications/custom applications accurately and as intended; application server technologies (e.g. SAP HANA/XS, SAP HCP, SAP Application Server Java, IBM WebSphere, MS IIS/ASP.Net); UI technologies (e.g. openUI5); at least one of the following programming environments: ABAP, Java/JavaScript, C++ or equivalent; SAP innovation products including SAP HANA, S/4HANA, SAP HANA Cloud Platform and its services, cloud applications, or business networks; SAP Solution Manager functionalities, including application lifecycle management, SAP Solution Manager Business Process Operations (BPO), SAP Solution Manager Application Operations (AO) and its APIs, as well as development and delivery in ABAP and Web Dynpro/SAP UI5 programming, as well as user interface/dashboard/report development, e.g. SAP BOE/Xcelsius and SAP BW; technically analyzing and optimizing a new application/software product including underlying technical architecture (i.e. SAP stacks), supporting business processes and functional portfolio, and inherent mission criticality and business functionality; performing research in order to service and support an SAP solution and improve it functionally and technically, and to deliver engineering services for it; and project execution and management. 40% travel required to various client sites nationwide.
