Senior Windows Engineer

ADP is hiring a Senior Windows Engineer in either Roseland, NJ, Alpharetta, GA, or Norfolk, VA, but remote will be considered for the right candidate.

We are seeking candidates comfortable working with the following:

  • Senior Windows Server Engineer responsible for installing, managing, and upgrading Windows-based servers within an Enterprise setting
  • Experience assessing the stability, security, and scalability of installed Windows systems
  • Provide end-to-end solutions to the stakeholders, while keeping in mind the IT security policy
  • Responsible for automating processes/procedures in ADP's infrastructure as needed
  • Able to integrate with various HW/SW vendors (create FW/Driver standards)
  • Develops and maintains architecture/design guidelines/documentation
  • Assesses the feasibility of new O/S configurations such as patching/compliance baselines and provides feedback working with partner technology BU’s
  • Assesses suitability of vendor products or solutions to determine requirements for service improvements and new enhancements
  • Collaborates with other IT teams in the design of processes which enhance innovation/stability of IT and business operations
  • Participates in Business planning, IT strategy and setting direction from the perspective of a Windows Server Engineer


  • 10+ years IT experience with knowledge in Windows Server administration
  • Strong knowledge of leveraging API's and Native Plugins to external systems
  • Experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)

Significant knowledge centered on Windows products and technology including:

    • Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022
    • SCCM
    • Network/Security Standards
    • MSSQL Clustering
    • Active Directory/GPO’s
    • Storage Configurations (Block, object, iSCSI, MPIO, etc.)
  • Able to work with the following scripting tools:
    • Powershell
    • .NET
    • Python
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to document technical information
  • Educates ADP Associates/Team Members on Microsoft product offerings and best practices
  • Ability to look at unique workflow and technology problems that may not have a clear solution, interpret them, and design/implement solutions to improve operational efficiencies and reduce complexity
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team structure. Holds self and others accountable in achieving collective goals
  • BS Degree in Computer Engineering or Information Systems or equivalent applicable experience
  • Relevant Certifications a plus (MCSE, MCSA, AWS, Azure, etc)



  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware/Openstack
  • Experience working with Cloud providers such as AWS/Azure
  • Experience working in Agile, Scrum and / or Kanban
  • Familiarity with BitBucket, Docker, Kubernetes, and Splunk
