Business Systems Analyst

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible conducting business process, data and systems analysis and preparing appropriate documentation for ADP's "Workforce Now" product, a Human Capital Management system that provides Payroll, Human Resources (HR), Time Management, and Benefits Administration applications for clients with 50 -- 4,000 employees. In this role, the Business Systems Analyst will work collaboratively with several cross-functional groups including, development, engineering, project management and business partners to develop process flows, user stories, functional and technical requirements and design solution options.

Business Systems Analysts should have a passion for utilizing their analytical skills to assist in driving strategic initiatives focused on reducing complexity, minimizing redundancy, and driving innovative capabilities to the Human Capital Management Ecosystem always ensuring the user experience continues to delight our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts detailed end to end business process and systems analysis
  • Develops user stories, functional, non-functional and technical specifications
  • Develops design options to satisfy user, business, statutory, system and project requirements
  • Assists in the development of functional testing requirements
  • Provides support to all teams to ensure solution goes to market with agreed upon scope, on time, with quality and organization preparedness
  • Closely works with business and technology leaders to solve for the business problems
  • Solves unique and complex problems

Qualifications Required:

  • Experience in partnering with teams to design solutions and transform end to end processes for large complex initiatives into action oriented objectives and measurable results.
  • Ability to act as a liaison between business and technologies
  • Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to think creatively and drive innovation
  • Experience in working in a team oriented collaborative environment
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communication as well as visualizations
  • Experience in Human Capital Management domain preferred
  • Experience in Business Process Improvement preferred
  • Experience with the Agile SDLC and scrum teams preferred
  • Ability to perceive patterns and relationships between technologies, processes, and business models
  • Ability to think creatively beyond normal constraints

POSITION SUMMARY:

Utilizing structured analysis and design techniques, formulates systems scope and objectives, and provides solutions to business problems. Prepares detailed specifications from which systems will be designed and programs will be written. Analyzes and solves existing systems logic difficulties. Assists in the preparation of system test requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analysis - Conducts structured analysis according to SDLC standards and prepares analysis documentation, including User Stories, Use Cases, or other requirements documentation. These documents serve as input to the creation of program specifications, test plans, user and system documentation, and training development and are used in all subsequent phases of the life cycle.
  • Design - Develops and documents design alternatives to satisfy user, business, statutory, and system requirements. Presents alternatives to users and impacted areas to facilitate design decisions and gain consensus.
  • Testing Support -- Assists in the development of functional testing requirements for new or existing system features. Conducts system walkthrough and formal review.
  • Support --Provides assistance to other staff members and development groups on selected business and technical issues. Assists in estimating and scheduling of a project or project tasks. Provides assistance to the IT Organization to troubleshoot and resolve problems and to explore opportunities for enhancement and improvement.
  • Knowledge -- Remains up-to-date on all systems analysis tools by reading related material and taking courses. Acquires business knowledge by learning the daily business operations of ADP and by obtaining a solid understanding of ADP products and features.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Education: Bachelors or Advanced Degree or Equivalent in Education & Experience with Major Area of Concentration Engineering, Business, or Math or equivalent technical experience
  • Minimum experience in the area: 5+ yrs experience
  • Expertise: SAP system, Office suite, project management and people; labor and social security legislation, accounting rules, tax assessment, leadership, communication and persuasion skills.
  • Skills: organization, interpersonal skills, flexibility and proactivity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

  • Bachelors or Advanced or its equivalent in education and experience with a Major Area of Concentration in Engineering, Business, or Math or equivalent technical experience
