As Supervisor, Digital Activation you’ll lead all aspects of the buying, negotiation, implementation and tracking for your client’s digital campaigns.  You’ll lead important buy presentations and post campaign reports. You’ll partner with the Associate Director and Director of the Integrated Planning team setting the tone for your account. You’ll partner as well with the Integrated Planning, Digital Ad Operations and Digital Analytics teams.  As a strategic leader you’ll manage your team helping to develop their skills, evaluate their performance and manage their growth. In addition to core account and team management you’ll take part in larger areas of agency development – aiding with new business pitches, committees and task forces.   This role is a step toward greater leadership within the media group and the agency overall.




Media Activation and Execution:

  • Participate in and lead digital media activations

  • Work with senior team members to set digital activation and negotiation strategies

  • Oversee plan negotiations with vendors

  • Act as final resource for all inventory, billing and invoice discrepancies

  • Act as the internal point of contact with the Integrated Planning team, Digital Ad Operations, and Digital Analytics teams

  • Ensure constant communication between Vizeum and various other creative agencies and ensure activation processes align with other teams/brands

  • Work with Digital Ad Operations team to develop and maintain timelines for all activation projects

  • Balance, prioritize and properly assign work associated with multiple, concurrent projects

  • Serve as a resource for Associates and Assistants for advice, counsel and mentorship

    Communications Planning and Execution:

  • Participate in and lead brand/communication initiatives

  • Work with senior team members to set communications objectives and strategies

  • Manage preparation, development, execution and stewardship of media plans for specific clients and/or brands, and accountable for supporting the team and ensuring plans are executed in line with Vizeum and client processes and standards

  • Develop ability to manage independently all aspects of the brand while briefing the Associate Communications Planning Director or Communications Planning Director on key happenings and issues

  • Support Associate/Communications Planning Director in the collection and evaluation of syndicated consumer and media consumption information

  • Provides  relevant insight and input into existing and emerging media opportunities (through awareness of available media and marketing services vendors)

  • Leverages thorough understanding of the client’s media AOR and Reach-Based planning process and procedures to help achieve communications planning objectives and optimize media investment

  • Oversees the consistent reporting of competitive market/media information for each brand/category

  • Serves as a facilitating contact point for client’s internal media staff and the primary contact point to client’s brand staff when media issues are discussed 

  • Ensure constant communication between Vizeum and various creative agencies (and other external partners)

  • Develop and maintain timelines for all projects

  • Serves as a resource for planners and assistants for advice, counsel & mentorship

    Client & Internal Relationships:

  • Maintain client relationships at appropriate levels for all buy/activation details

  • Understand the client’s needs

  • Manage expectations of clients, Integrated Planning team and deliverables

  • Grows business opportunities within current clients, where appropriate

  • Have a thorough understanding of all elements of the brand

  • Drives savings for business through strong negotiations

  • Leads face to face client and vendor meetings

  • Participates and presents in New Business efforts and presentations, where appropriate

  • Establishes strong internal relationships with other service line personnel


    Strategic Thinking & Leadership:

  • Works with management team (Supervisor/AMD/Media Director) to develop strategies for digital buys

  • Strategizes ways to use most effectively digital media dollars to the greatest benefit for our clients

  • Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner

  • Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate

  • Guide team members to nurture/promote team environment

  • Assist in the training of junior team members

  • May be responsible for working with supervisor to develop and oversee junior staff- manage time, assure projects are completed on time and adhered to (within) budget

  • May be responsible for constructing and delivering accurate, honest and timely performance management documents

  • Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to seamlessly transition among them

    Communications Skills:

  • Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications

  • Writes in a clear, compelling and concise manner

  • Organizes ideas and information logically and sequentially

  • Assists in the development of media presentations

  • Develop client reports that are clear, compelling and persuasive

  • Ensure key information is provided to team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.



  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5 -7 years communications/media planning experience

  • Experience in traditional marketing and current knowledge of trends and innovations in traditional and digital media

  • Experience creating and selling media programs

  • Ability to articulate strategic foundation for their development

  • Balanced ability to perform analytically and creatively
