Job Summary

AECOM NY Metro Building + Places seeks a highly experienced Technical Principal-Architecture to join our architectural practice who is capable of assuming the technical leadership for work in the NY Metro area. This individual will be working with multiple project teams, building types and contributing to a rich design culture, as well as demonstrating a rigorous process of achieving design and technical excellence.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assume a leadership position in the integration of AECOM quality processes, staff training and education leading to improvement in the staffs understanding and application of these processes, as well as the integration of NYC Metro and AECOM national best practices

  • Work with all staff to produce high quality technical solutions and well-coordinated drawing sets in BIM

  • Serve as quality assurance officer throughout the design process

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Architecture

  • 10+ years of experience including construction administration, specification writing or reviewing

  • Licensed as a Registered Architect in New York

  • Project production experience, well versed in standards and regulations

  • Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office

  • Technical architecture project leadership experience on both ground-up and renovation projects within the Institutional and Commercial sectors

  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills; verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Building code and zoning experience

  • Production experience on Revit projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on publically bid and federal projects

  • Experience in ProjectWise and Navisworks

  • Transportation and/or high rise project experience

  • Active in AIA, CSI, ASTM or other technical standards activities and organizations
