COMPANY DESCRIPTION

SAP started in 1972 as a team of five colleagues with a desire to do something new. Together, they changed enterprise software and reinvented how business was done. Today, as a market leader in enterprise application software, we remain true to our roots. That’s why we engineer solutions to fuel innovation, foster equality and spread opportunity for our employees and customers across borders and cultures.
SAP values the entrepreneurial spirit, fostering creativity and building lasting relationships with our employees. We know that a diverse and inclusive workforce keeps us competitive and provides opportunities for all. We believe that together we can transform industries, grow economics, lift up societies and sustain our environment. Because it’s the best-run businesses that make the world run better and improve people’s lives.

Do you enjoy exploring new features and functions and then sharing that knowledge with others? Are you passionate about helping our customers enable and adopt our new solutions to increase their business value? Do you enjoy communicating complex technical concepts in language and formats that business users can consume? If so, the User Assistance team is looking for you!

We are seeking a talented Technical Writer who can develop and maintain content for SAP Ariba Cloud solutions. We are transforming the nature of our content to be multi-media and topic-based, and are looking for candidates who can adapt their writing approach to a variety of audiences and formats (guides, videos, User Community FAQs, bite-sized topics, etc).

In this role, you will partner closely with Development teams and Product Owners to communicate the business purpose of new solutions and how our customers (business sponsors, administrators, and end users) can enable them and adopt them into their business flows.  You will also become an active member of SAP Ariba’s emerging user community by creating new content, responding to feedback on existing content, and answering user questions. You will write new documents from scratch and update existing documents for features developed for SAP Ariba’s on-demand solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities
•    Fulfill roles as both a dedicated member of a company-wide UA (documentation) team and an integrated, co-located member of an engineering team that uses the Agile development process.

•    Plan and track own work assignments and deliver them on schedule with high quality.
•    Represent documentation team in engineering meetings.
•    Document new features and maintain current documentation set.
•    Become an active member in Ariba’s emerging User Community.

We would like to talk to you if:
•    You have experience writing technical documentation, ideally for large enterprise resource planning systems, cloud-based solutions, and adapters.
•    You have exposure to integration, web services, CXML, and API documentation.
•    You thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and Agile-based engineering environment.
•    Your technical aptitude allows you to grasp new features, products, and solutions quickly.
•    You have written for a variety of audiences, including end users, system administrators, system integrators, business managers, support and services organizations, partners and resellers.
•    You have a clear writing style and good content organization skills.
•    You are comfortable working with developers and have represented documentation requirements during product design meetings.
•    You have an excellent command of the English language and are familiar with writing content that is translated to many languages.
•    You are able to manage writing tasks for multiple, overlapping product releases, and deliver on schedule without compromising quality under minimal supervision.

Basic Minimum Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, English, or a related field.
•    Four years of technical writing experience.
•    Experience in documenting procurement or e-commerce applications.
•    Experience in DITA.
•    Basic understanding of HTML and XML.
