About this Opportunity
As a Thrive Sales Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering human factors and ergonomic insights to key accounts within an assigned territory to gain market share.

  • Engage with key customers to identify needs and deliver human factors insight to gain a competitive advantage.
  • Launch relevant Herman Miller products and conduct first line product training sessions.
  • Consistently and regularly apply new knowledge in customer engagements.
  • Contribute to strategic business and forecasting discussions with Herman Miller Regional Leadership and Dealer Principles to facilitate the achievement of sales goals, establish new accounts, and grow existing customer sales. You'll also partner with the Herman Miller Salesforce and dealers to achieve effective relationships and results.
  • Contribute to the Sales Team/process by finding and cultivating strong relationships with non-traditional mobilizers and coaches. You will also sell to key accounts and the design community.
  • Deliver human factors Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to appropriate A D and other audiences. You'll transfer subject matter expert knowledge to internal and external audiences via presentations, case studies, white papers, and published articles. You may also serve as a keynote speaker in your area(s) of expertise.
  • Focus on applying research and trends to educate our customers and differentiate Herman Miller during the sales process. You will creatively apply relevant knowledge to connect with customers’ needs and deliver environments with a better outcome for people.
  • Achieve and maintain technical proficiency in human factors and keep current/monitor research, trends, and conditions to ensure Herman Miller remains a leader in the industry.
  • Actively promote the Herman Miller brand and human factors knowledge to customers, outside organizations, and the community.
  • Develop business plans with Regional Management for quarterly strategic business objectives.
  • Maintain monthly opportunity reports and provide mock up and installation assistance.
  • Educate customers on the benefits of ergonomics and leverage that knowledge in the sale of products and services.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

You might be just who we're looking for if you have . . .
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field. Relevant Ergonomic or Wellness experience or certifications are preferred.
  • Two or more years of successful selling experience that includes a proven track record of planning and execution.
  • A comprehensive understanding of Herman Miller products and services.
  • A work style that is entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, and influential with a can-do team attitude.
  • The ability to exercise personal judgment and assume significant responsibility for business growth.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional presentation skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate a positive customer experience.
  • The ability to use a personal vehicle in the transportation of company products for appointments and meetings. You must also be able to effectively handle products without assistance.
  • The ability and willingness to travel 50 percent of the time in support of strategic business objectives.
  • A demonstrated ability to effectively use the office automation, communication, software, and tools currently used in the Herman Miller office environment.
  • The ability to perform all essential job functions of the position with or without accommodations.
